Hi Kemp,
You may want to try a consumer advocate. See what resources they have for you. In the state where I live, the health department is obligated to investigate all claims of unhealthy, unsanitary, or dangerous living conditions. Some areas offer free legal advice, that could even point you in the right direction. But I definitely wouldn't wait for your deposit to move out. I know it can be tough when money is tight but put you and your family first and trust that you will find what you need. If you weigh the difference between the amount of your refunded deposit against medical bills because the smells caused temporary or permanent damage to you and your family, it may put things in a different light. Hope that helps.

To add to what Meth Lab Homes is saying, even if the HVAC in the meth lab isn't connected to other apartments, if you are smelling odors or chemicals, there is always a possibility of a residue build-up of those chemicals in your heating/AC ducts. The reason we smell at all is because microscopic particles of objects (cleaners, paint thinners, flowers, baked goods, trash, etc) are floating in the air and into our noses where our sensors decipher what it is. Actual physical particals, which is why they can cause us physical damage when we breathe them in.
I'm pretty sure my neighbors are running a meth lab. They're up all night making wierd noises (tapping, hammering, drilling), people coming and going all the time. The other day they had a sign on the door telling visitors to knock on the window. Their windows are always blocked out in the basement. I'm always smelling acetone or propane, wood smoke, and other wierd smells on top of a butt load of cigarette smoke. The police have raided the apartment before and took one of them to jail (the police don't raid apartments for traffic violations :) ). But the managers and owners continue to do nothing about it. I get so frustrated!

I had a truck unloading boxes in front of my house amd being carried next door. The truck had 2 different license plates from 2 different states. I called the pd on this character and they didnt do anything!
When i pointed out the plates; the cop began to stutter and was highly nervous.
Thats when I contacted the state police and the dea.
You have to stay with it. Because when one of these characters finds a safe place, more follow.
A meth house is a hazardous waste area. And it effects your property values as well.
There is always your familys safety to think about,so give them hell.....

Thanks for the info, Chris. Buckner's experience with meth is a prime example of just how addictive meth is. Getting burned on 60% of his body after having a meth lab explode wasn't enough to keep Buckner from going right back to it. He's lucky - very lucky - to be alive, despite the fact that he'll be living the next decade of his life in prison.

Thank you for posting. After watching this video, I learned that Mr. Buckner was arrested again shortly after being released from the hospital. I am looking for the date of his first arrest but not having much luck. Here is the link with the story of his arrest where he was sentenced to 135 Months in Prison for Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine.

It could be. Meth cooks typically use food choppers aka food processors to grind up pseudoephedrine pills, which have a drill-like sound. If they are making meth, then it appears they're making 3 weeks worth when they do make it.

While I agree that The Combat Meth Act 2005, which required pseudoephedrine to be placed behind the counter, provided only a temporary decrease in meth manufacturing in the U.S., that argument doesn't hold true when states implement PSE prescription laws. Oregon and Mississippi, who witnessed a dramatic decrease in meth labs after implementing their own prescription PSE laws, have continued to reap the benefits of having prescription laws in place. If a prescription PSE law had been implemented in Oklahoma, innocent children like Ayden Jennings and the three young children from Del City that died in meth lab fires might still be alive.

I agree with you that the purity of methamphetamine has gone up and the price of methamphetamine has gone down, however I disagree with your logic about why that's happening. The reason why the purity of meth is going up and the price is going down has nothing to do with attracting more people to use it. The purity of meth is going up because people are buying meth made by their neighborhood meth cook, which results in them getting a stronger, more-pure product. When a meth addict buys meth from a Mexican supplier, let's say for argument's sake, they are not getting the same meth that was shipped in from Mexico. Once meth gets to the U.S. and passes through a multitude of dealers' hands, it has been diluted several times by the time it reaches the neighborhoods in our communities.

Lastly, I have to disagree that that 99% of Oklahoma's citizens would be punished by a pseudoephedrine prescription law. If we're talking about percentages, let's be truthful about it. If you're saying that 99% of the population would be punished by having to get a prescription for pseudoephedrine, we have to assume that 99% of the population in Oklahoma actually need pseudoephedrine for legitimate health reasons. I find that reasoning very hard to swallow. We're talking about one ingredient, a decongestant, found in SOME cold and allergy medicines. We're not talking about water here. I'd have an easier time accepting your argument then. The fact is that the majority of Oklahomans would be protected if meth-makers weren't able to walk in to their neighborhood store and buy pseudoephedrine by simply showing them an ID or asking others to do the same for them. The illegal manufacture of meth effects everyone both personally and financially in a community and I do mean everyone. Oklahoma legislators, like legislators in the rest of the U.S., need to follow the path of Oregon and Mississippi and make pseudoephedrine a prescription drug, if they want to protect the rights of ALL citizens.

If Oklahoma passes a pseudoephedrine prescription law it would be the most honorable, ethical, and fiscally responsible thing they could do to put an end to meth labs, with the exception of banning PSE completely. Oklahoma legislators need to focus on first keeping PSE out of the hands of meth lab cooks and put that problem behind them, so can then can turn their focus on helping those who have become addicted to meth and the illegal imports of meth that may come in to the state from Mexico and elsewhere. When meth isn't being made in OK in sufficient quantities, addicts will have to rely on imported meth which is less potent and less addictive than the home-brewed methamphetamine that destroying communities and the people who live in them.

My neighbors and I share one wall. About every three weeks starting at 10pm and ending around 3am there are drilling noises about every 3-4min consistently. Is that a sound that's common with labs?
