Lincoln County Minnesota: Meth lab news for home buyers

October 8, 2008 by Meth Lab Homes · Leave a Comment

Lincoln County, Minnesota has figured out a way to deal with the high cost of decontaminating meth lab homes. They are going to make property owners responsible for paying for the cleanup. You could do what my son did in 2004 and buy a toxin-filled home and be left holding the bill for the cleanup, despite the fact that you had nothing to do with the contamination.

“The meth lab ordinance basically puts the responsibility of clean-up on the owner of the property,” said Olsen. “It protects the taxpayers from having to pay for it.” – Robert Olsen, environmental officer for Lincoln County

August 19, 2008 by Meth Lab Homes · Leave a Comment

Jeff Ryan, a high school teacher in Shafter, CA bought matches and pseudoephedrine. He also downloaded a recipe to make meth from the Internet. Prosecutors say that’s because he intended to make methamphetamine. Ryan says he bought the ingredients for a class project, one he says would attempt to make matches that could be struck anywhere. His lawyer says he is telling the truth, touting his record as a good teacher and his lack of a motive to make methamphetamine.

To his lawyer, I can come up with at least one motivating factor. It is spelled M-O-N-E-Y . Meth is selling for record prices, since the the U.S. and Mexico began putting the clamps on meth distribution and manufacturing.
