Missouri House Passes Pseudoephedrine Prescription Bill

The Missouri House gave its stamp of approval to an anti-meth lab bill on Tuesday that would make dry forms of pseudoephedrine (PSE)  available only by prescription . The bill, sponsored by Rep. Dave Schatz,  will allow liquid and gel-cap forms of PSE to retain their status as over-the-counter drugs, a loophole that many believe will allow meth-cooks to retain easy access to the one ingredient they need to make meth. The law is not expected to pass through the Senate this session due to the limited amount of time that’s left for the Senate to discuss and pass the bill forward to Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.

I pray that this passes even with the limited amount of time. I don’t understand why so many people are agaisnt something that saves lives, homes, and tax dollars because they may have to take a liquid medicine or call their doctor for tablets. People are worried about giving up their freedom, but when the freedom is that of allergy sufferers who don’t want to be bothered with switching meds and children’s lives and innocent people’s home are at stake I don’t think the issues can even compare.

I am saying this as an someone who has chronic sinus problems and no insurance by the way.
