TN Condo Owner Wants Meth Laws Changed

A TN condo owner wants meth laws changed and is determined to make it happen!

“We moved in our condo a little over 4 years ago , our first mistake  in my opinion was buying in a area that was redeveloped. The complex we live in is beautiful, gated , well landscaped, swimming pool and garages. Unfortunately  we own our unit otherwise we would have abandoned it and fought it out in court later.

Two and a half years after settling in and fully furnishing our place, we began to smell a foul odor. I started being  more  aware of my surroundings and began to notice my neighbors carrying in heavy boxes at late hours of the night , I  also began to keep a record of the times of day the odor would began.when I realized the smell would be stronger when we first got home and in the wee hours of the morning, I knew something was wrong .I have called the fire department, 911, and the non emergency number SEVERAL times. The last time I called the fire department  one of the guys in the house came outside closing the door behind him  and he wouldn’t let the fire department in , when one of the fire man asked him if they were cooking anything they said no. No? that is when I was to the point where I just couldn’t take it anymore .

I am now writing letters to the councilman, the mayors office ,the senator, the governor and the President Of the United States. I am not going to tolerate it anymore! I will not sit back with my hands folded while innocent people breathe toxic fumes that could potentially be the death of them and they’re love ones!   We will take back our neighborhood with or without the police helping! Laws need to be changed!

Meanwhile, I hear that if you call and say someone is manufacturing  crack or cocaine they will kick the door in and take them to jail even if it’s not true. I have a client who’s husband is sitting in jail now on some trumped up charges and the only thing he is guilty of is being associated with a known drug dealer (child hood friend). My clients husband was arrested ,thrown in jail , they emptied out the house taking all of they’re belongings including the children’s toys . oh did I say trumped up charges , I’m sorry he has yet to be formally charged with anything, he has been held for almost 5 months while all of his tax statements and receipts for everything owned in they’re home had to be produced. All tax statements  in order , all receipts in order and they are still holding him, because his house is too big and beautiful. Both my client and her husbands character has been publicly destroyed. Meanwhile the friendly neighborhood meth man is slowly contaminating and killing people in our communities.

6 years ago a man in our town was arrested for distributing cocaine and he was given 6 life sentences, no murders, no child molestation no kidnapping , no sex trafficking. please don’t  misunderstand I in no way advocate ANY illegal activity , it all damages our communities and puts our children at risk , anyone participating in any illegal activity should be punished, but let the punishment fit the crime.

I am frustrated but I will take my anger and frustration and I WILL see to it that laws are changed!”

My neighbor is a painting contractor and often works from his garage refinishing furniture. I’ll step out onto my patio some days and the fumes make you dizzy. These solvents are highly toxic, much more then what comes from a meth lab and he just carelessly contaminates the entire neighborhood. He uses the faucet on the side of his house to rinse his brushes and now he has a 20 ft patch of dirt where nothing will grow. He’s probably contaminated the ground water and his toxic plume is no doubt spreading under every house on the block. I’ve noticed in the last year that I wake up tired all the time and my eyesight is suddenly deteriorating. Yes we need to change the laws! Mr. handyman needs to have his doors kicked in and his financial records seized. Six life sentences is too good for him. I’m thinking I should put my house on the market before the EPA comes in and declares a disaster zone.
