Northampton meth lab update: Four suspects have entered innocent pleas on charges that they were involved with the manufacture of meth in the attic of a Bridge Street home.
Edmund Bowen, 27, denied charges in Hampshire Superior Court today that he cooked meth in an apartment house located at 227 Bridge Street.
Police allege that Bowen cooked meth in the attic of the Bridge Street apartment house over a five month period between 2009 and 2010. During that time he was living in apartment being rented by Paul Chunglo and his family, who moved out of the building earlier this year. Chunglo has not been charged with a crime.
In addition to making meth, police believe that Bowen also taught others how to manufacture their own meth. Ryan Chunglo 18, and his sister Lauren A. Chunglo, 20, and Alexander Viands, 20, have also been indicted on meth manufacturing charges and violations of the controlled substances act in relation to a meth lab located in the attic of 227 Bridge Street on October 11, 2010.
All four suspects have entered innocent pleas and remain free on their own personal recognizance, with the exception of Bowen. Bowen has remained in custody since his arrest last month, when his bail was set at $25,000 cash.

Edmund Bowen is my cousin. He is a young man that has endured trials and tribulations that would destroy 90% of this population. However, he has survived. He was abused in various ways as a child. His life has been plagued with suffering that I have witnessed with my own eyes. He is a troubled man who needs support and help, not persecution. He is in no way a human being that would commit any crime against society. These charges are being forced upon a person that has looked to substances as a way of relief for his pain, not a drug kingpin as he is being portrayed. His family is firmly behind him despite his troubles. I pray that he is given the forgiveness an addict deserves and not preyed upon by a faulty legal system. If he ever gets an opportunity to read this I just want him to know I love him, and I am sure god will carry him through these overbearing times. Please take the time to judge a man on his character, not the character these vultures are attempting to portray. I love you Eddie. Get better. We all miss you.
Drug addiction, unfortunately, hurts everyone: the addict, their family, their friends, and society. Your cousin is lucky to have been arrested, as strange as that sounds. Meth addicts / meth cooks ultimately end up losing their lives and often take others along with them or they suffer through the torture of living with excruciating burns. If your cousin had continued using and cooking meth, the end result would have brought more tragedy in to his life and the lives of others.
Do a search for Brad Hearon, David Parnell, and Mark Buckner on this site to see what could have happened to your cousin. If someone had stopped these men from using meth, their lives could have turned out very differently. Do a search for Johnna Osborn too to see what can happen to innocent people because of a meth explosion. Meth is no joke.

I appreciate your words. Obviously you have experience on some level with this. I would never post something on a website normally, nonetheless; I had to make it clear that my cousin is not an animal or a threat. He is a truly hurt person desperate for acceptance, help, and most importantly love. It hurts me to even visualize his recent struggle, especially when his so called friends and friends parents are pegging everything on him. These are ridiculous trumped up charges that are spear headed by individuals willing to listen to liars, then people with their own brains recognizing the truth.
