Oregon Health and Science University is searching for volunteers for their study of chronic methamphetamine dependence and brain function. The study will involved MRI scans, tests of concentration and memory and problem solving. Participants will be paid $50, in the form of a Fred Meyer gift card, after successful completion of each study visit (up to $200 total.)
If you are 18 years old or older, have a recent history of dependence on meth, be currently involved in a substance abuse treatment problem, have not used drugs or alcohol for 2 to 8 weeks and have no metal objects in your body, you are the kind of participant they need for this study. The study will last up to 4 days, for 4-6 hours each day, over a 6-month period.
If you need more information, call Alex or Hannah at (503) 721-7964 at MARC (Methamphetamine Abuse Research Center).
They are also teen participants who have used meth.
The Center for Family and Adolescent Research, a MARC research partner, is seeking participants ages 15-19 for a study of teens who have used methamphetamine. The Center for Family and Adolescent Research is part of the Oregon Research Institute, a non-profit research organization with offices in Eugene and Portland. For more information, visit the study website or call 503-243-1065.
