SOS!! April 8th of 2010 I was cooked out of a condo I lived in after 6 yrs. of renting in the Cottonwood Heights area in Utah. I am sure landlord has rented condo by now. JB one of the ?X!S meth heads is getting rehab out again maybe us as tax payers will buy him and his wife another set of teeth as well. Who gives a crap what has happened to me. I have been all over the board trying to get some kind of help in the state of Utah. I have lost everything I owned became basically homeless, stayed on my sons couch for the last 7 months. Trying to heal and get myself better plus trying to hold down my job I have been at for the last 5 yrs. What a wild ride I have been on and this rollercoaster ride has not come to a stop yet. I wanted to so start my life over, I purchased a townhome in West Jordan at the end of Sept. well guess what I am tasting my air and not feeling well again and have upgraded to nose bleeds. (I did test the property!) Since the weather changed I started to shut the windows and well HELP" if anyone knows where I start please pass on some phone numbers.

Meth lab clean up contractors tell me that spray starch will sometimes help to reveal the presence of meth, however it is not always effective. It depends on which kind of meth cooking method they used. Otherwise, there are companies that offer meth test kits, some are more sensitive than others.

Using a do-it-yourself meth test kit may or may not tell you if there is contamination present. The outcome of the test depends on where you test in the house and it will only tell you if meth has been detected. The contamination is homes where meth has been manufactures goes far beyond meth.

There are several toxic chemicals found in contaminated homes, which is why I recommend having an initial assessment of the property done by a professional. If you do a self-test and it doesn't turn anything up, but it is in fact contaminated, then you or anyone living in the home, especially children and pregnant moms, would be put at risk of developing short and/or long term health problems.

How would someone get a meth test kit they could use without a huge cost; but would still be effective?
