Did you read the front page of the New York Times dated July 14, 2009? If you didn’t, you should! The article “Illnesses Afflict Homes With a Criminal Past”, written by Robbie Brown and Shaila Dewan focuses on former meth lab homes and their effect on the lives of hard-working American families.
It was sure nice to see a newspaper, a major newspaper at that, give everyday Americans, prime coverage in their publication. It was shocking, actually to see regular old “Joe the Plumber” kind of news posted right up there with President Obama, Judge Sonia Sotomayer, Senators Jeff Sessions and Patrick Leahy, and even Neil Armstrong standing on the moon!
Shocking, but oh so comforting to know that media, which often gets a bad rap, has given good, innocent, hard-working families the attention they deserve.
Often the poor and the suffering are swept on to filler pages, but that wasn’t the case today, thanks to Shaila Dewan and Robbie Brown and the New York Times!
Thank you so much for helping to spread the word about the health dangers and financial problems that go hand-in-hand with meth lab homes. Thank you too, for restoring our faith in the media, particularly the New York Times! You rock!
