Experts estimate that in every elementary school classroom in the U.S., at least 3 children are living with someone who has a substance abuse problem. Many of those children will go on to become substance abusers just like their parents.

(picture) Toddy Svoboda and Zoey Montgomery, both 11 years old,  lived with parents who were addicted to methamphetamine.  They are also co-founders of a support group in Iowa called Kids Supporting Kids of Addicted Parents; a group that was formed with the help of a counselor.

My Landlord’s maintainence man took a part from a methlab house, and put it in MY FURNACE. It was an ignitor. It wasn’t until I complained about it that it was then removed by an “official” HVAC certified technitian.
Does anyone have any information that can help me get to whoever it is that can help me take some action? Also, how do I find out if that meth lab house was PROPERLY CLEANED UP? There is a new family that moved in there. I feel that they should be warned, and proven that the house was officially cleaned up. Thank you.

    • I would talk to the family and tell them about your concerns. If there was never a meth lab bust at the house, then there will be no record with the police department. My guess is if there was never a bust at the house, then there was no clean up done on the house either. They would have to have the home tested to get the proof they’d need to file a lawsuit to get back any monies they have invested in the house, whether that be rent, down payment, etc.
