Warning to meth cooks: Some police officers were boy scouts too

Heeding the call to a citizen’s report about people coming and going in to a wooded area near Schillinger road on July 20th, a Mobile Alabama police officer decided to trek through the dark woods to investigate. His efforts resulted in the arrests of two meth cooks, both of whom were wearing head lamps when he found them. He later discovered that one of those cooks was on parole for a prior conviction of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Meth labs located in remote locations are becoming more a lot more common, as meth cooks try to avoid being arrested. Anyone hiking or camping in wooded areas, should be extremely careful when venturing in to isolated areas, particularly in states with high meth use and meth lab counts. Meth cooks are often armed and dangerous and they won’t hesitate to shoot anyone they feel may be a threat to them. Many meth lab cooks also use booby traps designed to keep anyone from finding out about their illegal drug making activities.
