Deputy gets double-crossed in Crossville, TN Meth Lab raid
August 11, 2008
A meth lab cook got the one-up on on a Crossville deputy during a drug raid on 1314 Deck Rd in Crossville, TN. When the deputy showed up at Terry Selby’s home with a warrant, Selby met him at the door. When the deputy asked if he could enter the home Selby agreed but he told the officer that he would first have to secure his vicious dog. It was then that Selby slipped in to bedroom in the home, where he escaped out of one of its windows.
Two other occupants of the home were arrested at the home however after marijuana was found lying on a coffee table. Coffee filters and PH test strips were also found inside the home, prompting the deputy to search the home and a vehicle that was parked outside. The search, as the deputy suspected, led to more evidence that the home was being used as a meth lab. Items found during the search included plastic tubing, red phosphorus, more PH test strips and a small batch of powdery meth.
Thomas Ryan Crawford, Jr. 24 of Sparta was arrested on meth charges and his bond was set at $15,000. Roberta Dawn Brown, 29 of Witt Road was also charged and her bond was set at $2,500. Terry Selby has not been apprehended, nor has his vicious dog.
